<image:title>portfolio - Therabotics Part 2: Robotic Prosthetic Hand Controlled with Object Recognition and Eye-Tracking</image:title>
<image:caption>I 3D printed a flexible prosthetic hand from OpenBionics, attached a linear actuator for each finger and interfaced them with an Arduino, and hardcoded a handful of different grasps on the Arduino firmware. I also created a plugin for a mobile open source eye tracking device (in Python) that performs real-time object recognition using Tensorflow. The plugin then uses fixation data (eye tracking data) to determine which object the user is focusing on (if any). I then developed ROS topics, publishers, and subscribers that allowed the vision component to communicate with the Arduino, thus allowing eye tracking and real time object recognition to serve as a control input for the motion control of the prosthetic hand.</image:caption>
